Griffin joined Rovers in 2016 and has helped them secure a top four finish in the Championship for the last two seasons.
However, the club released a short statement last night stating that the 36-year-old has been suspended just four weeks out from the new season.
"Featherstone Rovers can confirm front-row forward Darrell Griffin has been suspended pending an internal investigation. The club will be making no further comment at this time."
Griffin has played over 350 career games for Wakefield, Huddersfield, Leeds and Salford, making two appearances for England in 2010.
